One of the perks of working in the music industry? Having a rock star-studded birthday party, of course. Tonight is Wine from the Moon staffer Talia's birthday party (rooftop, obviously) and the line-up for the evening includes Matt Kelly, Jon Leganski, JiMMy CoN and Ryan Sweeney. No, you didn't read that wrong, Ryan Sweeney, as in the president of Wine from the Moon, is in the line up.
I know, pretty sweet, right? And being an intern, I get to check out the sweetness and report back. I will try to make my notes before the birthday shots begin, but no promises.
I can't party too hardy, thought, because tonight is of course, only the beginning of yet another packed weekend for WFTMers.
It will begin Saturday morning, when I will be rising with the sun (or maybe still up...) to attend a PR seminar. This will be the last in a 3 part series WFTMers have had thanks to the higher-ups here, who like to make sure we know what we're doing. The seminars are extremely helpful; crash-courses in things like contract negotiating, booking and event planning. (Don't worry, we repay the favor in hard-labor.)
Saturday night is open, but as always, we are strongly encouraged to check out more music, which is abundant. And Sunday, the day of rest....well, for some people. Haven't you heard the music world never sleeps? Its true. Sunday night is the Ben Keeler show at Double Door's Dirtroom, which you should totally check out. $5, 9pm, I'll be the one front and center with a gin and ginger in my hand.
Wish me luck, or maybe just send me a Red Bull! And don't worry, if I don't see you out this weekend, we have plenty of sweet opportunities coming up.
Speaking of which, did you get your invite to the Crawfish Boil for Haiti yet? I've never had a crawfish, but I hear they're delightful. Plus, even if it turns out I hate crawfish, Haiti still gets all the proceeds.
See ya Monday!
