This is how my mind has been working for the last six weeks- ever since I joined the intern team at Wine from the Moon.
What is Wine from the Moon (WFTM), you ask? Primarily, they are a creative partner for bands. That means that they provide promotion, booking and management, especially for bands who are just starting out.
Why should you care? Because their (now our!) job is to help you be the kid that always says, "Oh yeah, I've known [enter band here] forever. I was at their first show at Silvie's three years ago; I can't believe they're playing the Metro now."
( Check out the WFTM website for a heads-up on the freshest of the fresh: http://www.winefromthemoon.com/ )
But back to me, one of the lowly interns. Unlike some interns I know, we here at WFTM didn't ever have the pleasure of learning everybody's coffee orders, or what kind of cream cheese they like on their blueberry bagels.
Instead, we know things like what show is at every Chicago venue from The Abbey to Uncommon for the next six weeks (go ahead, try us), who to contact if one of our bands wants to play at Subterranean in June, and how important it is to be able to honestly (even harshly) judge new music.
Not a bad gig, huh? Let me tell you, it gets pretty interesting. We'll be sharing some of our stories here while simultaneously keeping you updated on the music scene in Chicago (and no, we won't be telling you about things like the John Mayer show at the United Center, not that we're not fans), so keep your eyes peeled!

This post made me CHEESE. (;
